Dr. Bob Esbensen: Dr. Bob Esbensen graduated from the University of Illinois in 1981. After 7 years of small animal practice, he and Dr. Gloria opened Arlington Cat Clinic in 1988. His professional interests include surgery, ultrasound and endoscopy. Dr. Bob is also a diplomat of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) with a specialty in companion animal practice. His family includes his wife Gloria, son Pete, 1 cat and 2 golden retrievers. In his free time, he enjoys nature photography and fishing. Dr. Bob competes in ice fishing tournaments every winter and in 2010 earned a spot on the U.S. Ice Fishing Team. His team won the gold in the World Ice Fishing Championship in March 2010. The USA Ice Team tries again for the gold in Finland 2015.
Dr. Gloria Esbensen: Dr. Gloria graduated from the University of Illinois in 1981. After 7 years of small animal practice, Dr. Gloria and her husband Dr. Bob opened Arlington Cat Clinic in 1988. Her professional interests lie in pediatrics and the very cherished geriatric cats. Dr.Gloria's family include her husband, son Pete, 1 cat and 2 golden retrievers. She enjoys cross stitching, sewing, quilting, reading, exercising and taking agility classes with Bear and Benny.
Dr. Carol Fuhrman: Dr. Carol Furhman has been a feline practitioner since 1996. She is a graduate of Ohio State University College of Vet Med. Her varied professional interests include internal medicine and feline behavior. She is a member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Outside the hospital Dr. Fuhrman enjoys gardening, quilting and reading science fiction and fantasy novels. She has four cats and also raises chickens in her backyard.
Dr. Maggie Placer: Dr. Placer earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Purdue University in 2014. She attended Louisiana State University as an undergraduate, receiving a degree in Animal Science with a concentration in Science and Technology. While at LSU, Dr. Placer was a member of Tri-Delta Sorority and active in student government. After graduating from veterinary school, she worked as a small animal practitioner in southern Indiana. Dr. Placer participated in an ABVP residency in Feline Practice in The Woodlands, TX from 2015-2017. She has a lifelong passion for working with and enjoying felines; her focus is on wellness care to prolong the valuable time that owners have with their pet. Dr. Placer is a published author and hopes to further contribute to feline research. Dr. Placer is a sports enthusiast who enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, watching crime shows, and all things cat. She completed the 2012 Chicago marathon and is looking forward to her next marathon. She shares her home with her cat, Jimmay Graham, and continues to care for her childhood cat, Sausage.
